These terms govern your use of the Lexicamp app and this website. By creating an account or using Lexicamp, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Lexicamp.
1. Who we are
Lexicamp is a vocabulary-learning application for iOS, operated as a sole proprietorship based in the State of Georgia, United States. Contact: support@lexicamp.app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Lexicamp. Lexicamp is a general-audience study app. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly allow accounts for anyone under 13, and we do not market to children. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Lexicamp only with the involvement of a parent or guardian — and note that subscriptions are purchased through Apple, whose own account and Family Sharing rules apply. 3. Your account
You need an account to save words and sync your study history across devices. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Every account is issued a username that is visible to other users on the in-app leaderboard, alongside a language flag and a count of mastered words. You can change your username in Settings. Do not choose a username that impersonates someone else, or that is obscene or harassing — we may reset usernames that do.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Lexicamp is free to use with limits, and offers an optional paid subscription that removes them.
- All purchases are made through Apple’s In-App Purchase system and are governed by your agreement with Apple. We never receive or store your payment details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You are charged at the start of each period through your Apple ID.
- Free trials. Where a free trial is offered, Apple allows one introductory offer per subscription group — so you are eligible for one trial across the monthly and annual plans combined, not one for each. If you are not eligible, you are charged immediately and the app will say so before you confirm.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end your current paid period — you keep access until the period you already paid for runs out, and you are not refunded for the remainder.
- Manage or cancel through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device, or via Manage Subscription in the app. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us; see Support.
- Prices may change. We will give notice before a change affects a renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
5. Your content
The words you save, translations you edit and your study history belong to you. We store and process them only to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell them.
Note the shared translation cache. Translations of words and phrases you look up are stored in a cache shared across all users, without any link to your identity. That cache is part of the service and is not your content. This is explained in full in the Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service;
- access or try to access another user’s account or data;
- use the translation features at a scale, or for a purpose, the app is not designed for — including bulk or automated extraction of translation data;
- circumvent free-tier limits, entitlement checks or usage caps;
- upload content that is unlawful, or use Lexicamp to infringe anyone’s rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that do these things.
7. Service availability and changes
Lexicamp is provided “as is” and “as available.” Features may change or be removed. Translation and example generation depend on third-party services that can change, impose limits, or become unavailable, and some language pairs have better coverage than others.
Lexicamp is a study aid. Translations are produced by automated systems and may be wrong. Do not rely on Lexicamp for professional, legal, medical or safety- critical translation.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. ⚠️ Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription — cancel that through Apple, as described in section 4.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lexicamp disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to Lexicamp will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) US $50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above and surfaced in the app. Continuing to use Lexicamp after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you and we consent to that jurisdiction.
